「The Fall」今月のストーリーは？

9月度ストーリー最終週

9月のオリジナルストーリーは「秋」をテーマにおなじみの“猫のパット”のお話です。

One fall day, Pat the Cat and Fred the Rat went for a walk.

（ある秋の日、ネコのパットとネズミのフレッドは散歩に出かけました）

Everywhere, leaves were changing colors.

（いたるところで、木の葉の色が変わっていました）

Greens, oranges, yellows, and reds.

（緑、オレンジ、黄色や赤）

Whoosh…. The fallen ones danced in the wind.

（ビュン…落ちた葉が風に踊っていました）

Thonk… thonk,thonk.

（コトン…コトン、コトン）

“What was that sound, Pat?”

（「パット、あの音はなに？」）

They both listened closely.

（2人は耳をすませました）

“Let’s go find out.”

（「答えを探しにいってみよう」）

They walked  deeper  into the woods.

（彼らは森のさらに奥まで歩いていきました）

Flap, Flap, Flap…

（パタパタパタ…）

They looked up, but it wasn’t the same sound.

（彼らは上を見あげましたが、同じ音ではありません）

It was the birds, flying south for the winter.

（それは鳥たちが冬に向けて南に飛んでいく音でした）

Just then, thonk, thonk, boink, boink!

（すると、コトン、コトン、ボン、ボン！）

“Ouch!” 

（「いたいっ！」）

Some acorns fell on top of their heads.

（彼らの頭にいくつかのドングリが落ちて来ました）

They looked at each other and laughed.

（彼らはお互いを見て笑いました）

“We found the noise!”

（「音を見つけた！」）

They enjoyed the rest of their day in the fall colors.

（その日の残りの時間、彼らは秋の色を楽しみました）

今月のストーリーは、音の表現を表す言葉や「過去形」など、いろいろな要素があった内容です。物語の中で覚えていくことで、使い方も覚えていきましょう！
